Your newborn's first professional photography session is a special experience, and I’m here to ensure it's as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Here are some important tips to help you prepare for your newborn photoshoot!

1. Dress the Baby Comfortably
For your newborn photography session, dress your little one in something soft and easy to remove, such as a zipper onesie. This makes transitions smoother, allowing for beautiful, uninterrupted posing. If you’d like to use outfits from my photography studio, please let me know 72 hours before the session so we can plan accordingly.

2. Feed the Baby Before You Arrive
To keep your baby calm and sleepy during the session, I recommend feeding them about 30 minutes before you arrive. A well-fed, sleepy baby is ideal for newborn portraits. Remember to bring extra milk or formula for feeding breaks as needed.

3. Bring Newborn Essentials
When preparing for your newborn photography session, it's important to pack a few baby essentials to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for both you and your baby. Here’s a quick list of what to bring:
1. Milk or Formula Supplies
Even if you feed your baby before the session, having extra milk or formula bottles on hand is crucial for feeding breaks. Babies get hungry, and keeping them well-fed helps maintain their calm and sleepy state for the session. Whether you're breastfeeding or using formula, pack enough for the duration of the session.
2. Pacifier
A newborn pacifier can be a lifesaver during a newborn photoshoot. It helps soothe your baby between shots or while adjusting poses. Even if your baby doesn’t use one regularly, it might come in handy for calming during the session.
3. Extra Diapers and Wipes
While my studio is stocked with diapers and wipes, it’s always good to have extras just in case. Newborns can be unpredictable, and having these essentials within reach helps keep everything running smoothly without delays.
4. Comfortable Clothing
It is very helpful to dress baby comfortable clothes That's easy to remove for quick changes. Also, consider bringing an extra outfit in case of any messes or accidents. Zipper onesies or soft, loose clothing are ideal for keeping your baby comfortable between shots.
5. Burp Cloths
Feeding breaks are common during newborn sessions, and burp cloths are helpful for cleaning up any spit-up and keeping your baby dry and clean.
6. Any Special Items (e.g., Reflux Supplements)
If your baby has specific needs, such as reflux medications or other essentials, please don’t forget to bring them along. These items will ensure your baby remains comfortable throughout the session.
7. Favorite Blanket or Swaddle
Although I provide wraps and swaddles, bringing your baby’s favorite blanket can help create a comforting environment. It can also be incorporated into the session for a personal touch.
Packing these essentials will help make your newborn photography session as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Being well-prepared allows you to relax and enjoy the experience while I capture those precious first moments with your baby!

4. Allow Plenty of Time for Preparation of Newborn photoshoots
usually last around 1.5 hours, but it’s important to plan for some extra time. Babies are unpredictable, and we’ll need time for feeding, soothing, and adjusting. If you’re using your own baby outfit, make sure your little one arrives ready for their baby photography session. For parents, especially if you’re part of a mini family session, consider bringing an extra outfit for a quick change if needed.

5. Image Selection and Delivery
Within one week after the session, you’ll receive a viewing gallery of raw images. You can select your favorite shots for professional editing, and the final gallery will be delivered to you within 2-3 weeks.
By following these tips, your newborn photography experience will be both relaxing and enjoyable for you and your baby. I look forward to capturing these special moments for your family!
